As lovers of real Turkish Delight (lokum), bought at the Spice Market in Istanbul we have always been on the look-out for good TD, and it's not that easy to source. This product is of course not true lokum, but it is very much in line with how Fry's USED to be.. not the soft, pappy, flavourless stuff it's become. I wish more natural flavourings had been used, but that would make it exceedingly expensive. For what it is, it's a good product.....and yes...... we wish it were just a bit bigger. :)

So my strained relationship with Canadian choccie continues - I so want to like it but yet again disappointed. I love TD and the filling is OK, a bit chewy but OK, but its the choccie coating. I can't say it's horrible but it is, for want of a better word, odd.

THE FIRST CHOCOLATE BAR I EVER HAD WHEN I WAS 5 YEARS OLD AT THE SKATING RINK IN NORTHERN ONTARIO. WHEN I MOVED TO THE UNITED STATES THIS IS THE #1 ITEM ON MY WISH LIST WHEN MY FAMILY COMES TO VISIT. I SURELY WISH THAT THEY WOULD SELL IT IN THE STATES: MY GIRLFRIENDS ARE ALL LOVING IT AND I REALLY HATE TO SHARE WHEN I GET SOME SENT TO ME.

The Big Turk brings back memories of a magical night in Turkey's capital city. Their loukoum is not quite as sweet, but this bar still has it all in my books. I highly recommend it. Cheers.
