I can't eat these things. They taste like dried up bits of chocolate wax that have been sitting in the back of the fridge for a year growing stale and awful.
Whoever said Hershey's uses more Cocoa than European chocolate has it backwards - the cocoa content of Hershey's milk chocolate is significantly lower than Euro variants (but higher in sugar).

An American here. I see a lot of people describing the taste of Hersheys as nauseating. I think what you're responding to is the cocoa content. I believe Hershey uses more cocoa, which is apparent as the chocolate is much darker. I've always thought Cadbury wasn't very chocolatey (is that a word)I think they must use more milk or something, I still like it though. Traditionally Europeans don't like a very strong chocolate taste and tend to use less cocoa. I grew up on Hershey's and sometimes still crave it!
